About Us
The P-POD Helmet® was developed by Christopher Gordon, MD, FACS, FAAP, Division Chief of Plastic Surgery at Dayton Children's Hospital.
After seeing as many as 40 plagiocephaly patients each week in his surgical practice, he realized the current process of treating these patients didn't make sense. Parents shouldn’t be required to see multiple specialists before getting the treatment their babies need.
The P-POD® Helmet is the world’s first FDA-approved in-office orthosis to treat plagiocephaly at the initial point of contact.
The P-POD® Helmet applies passive pressure to prominent regions of an infant’s cranium, helping to improve cranial symmetry and/or shape in infants from 4 to 18 months of age who have moderate to severe nonsynostotic positional plagiocephaly. This includes infants with plagiocephalic, brachycephalic, and scaphocephalic shaped heads.
